Officers from the Coventry Partnerships team joined forces with Coventry City FC to speak to children about hate crime.

The team worked with the Sky Blues to deliver \”No Room for Racism\” workshops at Clifford Bridge, St Osburg\’s and Hill Farm School this week.

The workshops educated youngsters on racism and also featured a Q&A session with Coventry first-team players Haji Wright and Josh Eccles.

The pupils were also tasked with designing an anti-racism poster, with the winners to be given tickets to Coventry City vs West Brom on 30 October.

PCSO Share Taylor, from the Partnerships team, said: \”Our focus is to educate young people on the seriousness of racism and make it clear it is not tolerated.

\”We will continue to work with the Sky Blues on and off the pitch to work against hate crime.\”

This week\’s visits will be followed by further ones at other schools next week.

The visits coincided with National Hate Crime Awareness Week, which highlights the issue of racism experienced across the country.

“We take hate crime very seriously all year round, but this week is a chance for us to showcase the work we are doing to tackle and prevent this crime type, as well as share information about reporting it,” the force said.
