Local community radio presenter Indiraa (pictured above), who presents the “In-Conversation” show on NuSound 92FM (London), has been shortlisted in the 2024 Community Radio Awards.

Indiraa has made the shortlist, which was whittled down from entries from stations across every corner of the UK.

British Asian presenter Indiraa picked up her nomination in the community radio show of the year category for her weekly Sunday lunchtime show, in which she interviews people from various communities and discusses subjects that are sometimes regarded as taboo in certain communities.

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony in Cardiff on November 16 at the Cardiff Stadium.

Indiraa says: “I’m thrilled at getting through to the shortlist, which in itself is an achievement. Most of all, I’m grateful to the listeners and NuSound Radio for giving me this opportunity to interview amazing people from different cultures and faiths, including some from my own South Asian community.

Martin Steers, awards Chair, said: “All those shortlisted should be proud of what they do for their station and their communities. We wish all the finalists good luck and look forward to welcoming them to Cardiff in November.”
